As a high school teacher, I am acutely aware of the physical and emotional benefits that come from team sport and the connections made when playing teams from different states is something that makes AVSC so special. Not only does volunteering help support this valuable event, but you also become an essential part of a network that fosters connection and growth.

I enjoy Volunteering. It means you are able to meet new people, keep in contact with your friends that you have met previously, sometimes you do not see these other Volunteers for twelve months. I have Volunteered with the Australian Volleyball School Competition for 3 years, and keep going back as it helps keep your mind active, and physically it helps keep me fit. I am retired and have time to help out.

It's a profound experience to be part of something bigger than yourself while working alongside people who are just as passionate about volleyball. It's not as much about the journey or the destination as it is the company along the way!

After volunteering for the past couple AVSC tournaments as both a Court supervisor and a Referee, I've had the opportunity to meet and work alongside some amazing people from around the country who always make this event super enjoyable both on and off the job.
